I have been working with children and families for almost 20 years. I received my doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin, Counseling Psychology program. Through this program, I gained extensive experience in assessment, therapy, consultation, and research in a variety of settings including community mental health, outpatient services, and residential treatment programs.
I completed my predoctoral internship at Community Healthlink near Boston, Massachusetts providing therapy, assessment, and community outreach. My postdoctoral fellowship at the Scottish Rite Learning Center provided further experience in assessment and groups for children with dyslexia and other learning disorders. Another postdoctoral fellowship at a local practice, ADD Austin, extended my training in assessment, individual therapy, and parenting support for individuals with ADHD.
Before transitioning into private practice in 2019, I worked at the Austin Child Guidance Center as a Staff Psychologist for 10 years. I specialized in assessment and postdoctoral supervision, and previously provided therapy, parenting groups, and practicum supervision. I have completed the Level 1 Certification in Therapeutic Assessment®, attended the Middelberg Training in Integrated Systemic Therapy, and I am a Certified Trainer in the Nurtured Heart Approach®.
In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and hiking with our dog.
